How to install iOS simulators?

The iOS simulator is available only on macOS and is contained within the Xcode developer tools. However, no coding within the Xcode framework is necessary. When you install Xcode from the Mac App Store, many simulators are also installed on your computer.

To see your AppStudio apps on the AppStudio Virtual Device menu, you must install Xcode Command Line Tools. The minimum supported version of Xcode and the Command Line Tools is 7.0.

Suppose you want to test your iOS app on a different version of the iOS simulator than the one provided by your Xcode installation. In that case, you can download additional simulators from Xcode. To do that, follow these steps:

  • Open Xcode and head to Menu.
  • From the dropdown menu, select Xcode > Preferences > Select Components and select the simulator version you wish to download.

You can also check out LambdaTest’s iOS Simulator Online to test your websites, web apps, and iOS apps.
