What is SDLC Process?

SDLC, or Software Development Life Cycle, is a systematically developed staircase used by software engineers to manage different tasks from software planning to designing, developing, testing, and maintenance. It aims to develop or produce high-quality software that fulfills customer expectations without expanding costs and time during development.

Key phases in SDLC include the planning , requirement gathering and analysis, system designing , implementation or development, testing , deployment, and maintenance.

• Planning is about defining the project goals, objectives, and requirements.
• Requirements gathering is identifying and collecting customer requirements, coupled with analyzing these requirements.
• System design includes the software architecture, architecture specifications, and, later, the detailed design specifications.
• Implementation refers to the development phase whereby the design is converted into a working application by means of coding.
• Testing involves having many types to seek and destroy any bugs.
• Deployment is releasing the product into customers hands.
• Maintenance refers to continuous support given to customers for whatever issues they may have, enhancing the product.
