How to check the iOS version?

Apple periodically releases updates to the version of iOS used on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. This article explains how to identify which version of iOS firmware a device is using so that you can determine if it requires an update.

For iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch:

• Head to Settings.
• Click on General and tap About.
• The current version of iOS will be listed by Version.

Check With Your Computer:

You can also use your computer to find the software version of your device. Here's how:

• If you have macOS Catalina or later, open the Finder; if you have macOS Mojave or earlier, or you're using a Windows PC, open iTunes.
• Plug your device into the computer.
• Locate your device.
• Click the Summary tab or the General tab to see the version of the software installed.
