Selectors Level 4 allows the
:not() pseudo-class to accept a list of selectors, which the element must not match any of. Selectors Level 3 only allowed
:not() to accept a single simple selector. Thus,
:not(a):not(.b):not([c]) can instead be written as
:not(a, .b, [c]). The :not(X) property in CSS is a nullification pseudo class and acknowledges a basic selector1 as a contention. Basically, simply one more selector of any sort. :not matches a component that isn't spoken to by the contention. The passed contention may not contain extra selectors or any pseudo-component selector
